Dr. Carvajal performs Endoscopic Browlift/Forehead Lifts to create a smoother, more youthful appearance. This procedure can be performed in conjunction with other surgeries, such as a facelift or skin resurfacing.
What is a Browlift/Forehead Lift?
A browlift, also known as a forehead lift, reduces the wrinkle lines which develop over time horizontally across the forehead, and those occurring on the bridge of the nose and between the eyes. A browlift improves the vertical creases, known as frown lines, between the eyebrows, and a browlift will raise the sagging brows which hood the upper eyelids.
Greeted right away. Services explained well. Overall a good experience!
Who is a good candidate for a browlift/forehead lift?
A good candidate for a browlift is a person who is a nonsmoker, in good general health, and has realistic expectations.
How is the surgery performed?
To perform a browlift/forehead lift, an incision is generally made across the top of the head from the front of one ear to the front of the other ear. The forehead and brows are elevated, and excess skin is removed. The flap is then sutured. Newer techniques now allow Browlift/Forehead Lifting through small incisions in the scalp by using an endoscope and specialized instruments. This accelerates the healing process.
What happens after my surgery?
Antibiotics may be prescribed for several days following surgery. Sutures are generally removed within one week. Swelling and some bruising may occur, which should subside within a few weeks. Our doctors will prescribe ice compresses and eye exercises to reduce swelling and regain mobility. Women can begin using cosmetics approximately two weeks after surgery. You can proceed with your normal daily activities within 1-2 weeks. A final evaluation may occur within several months from the initial surgical procedure.
Will my insurance cover a Browlift/Forehead Lift?
Your insurance company may pay for a portion of, or all of, the cost of surgery if the procedure is performed as a result of visual impairment. Because every insurance carrier is different, it is recommended that you check with your own insurance company to determine the level of coverage.
